Information Brokerage
People are nosy. People who travel a lot, are nosy everywhere. Our adventurers have a tendency to accumulate a dearth of information over the course of their tasks. Some of which is potentially very important to you. Our adventurers have the liberty to barter their knowledge for goods or resources only.General Cargo Transport:
Medrengard Express maintains very strict recruitment standards. As a result, some of the best couriers and free agents in the realm are contracted to us. Ordinarily, it may be difficult to hire these agents as they are permanently in demand. However, for an extra fee, Medrengard Express will allow clients to hire these couriers directly, and assign an extra cargo quota priced per tonze.Bulk/Superheavy Transport:
We employ a diverse fleet of Airships, Watercrafts and Land Convoys. This option has been made available at repeated requests from city-state administrations. Our entire fleet can be hired on a week-by-week basis on Grand Company orders.Search and Rescue & Other Emergency Services:
Eorzean Topography lies devastated in the wake of the Seventh Umbral Calamity and Garlean Encroachment. Several locations have been rendered hazardous to life and treacherous to navigate. Some of our most experienced couriers count amongst the handful of people capable of braving these environments. These souls can be made available and deployed immediately for emergencies.
MEDRENGARD EXPRESS DENIES ALL LIABILITIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE OR LOSS OF PROPERTY WHILST RENDERING THE SERVICES NOTED ABOVE.

Medrengard, Logan J.: The elder of the Medrengard siblings, Logan sits at the heart of the operation. She is responsible for coordinating logistics and balancing ledgers from the company headquarters in Radz-at-Han.
Though a youth spent wandering Othard's expanse has left her well acclimated to the outdoors. Enough that she will personally take to the field for operations requiring a delicate touch, be they goods transport or emergency response.

Medrengard, Lin C.: In charge of materiel acquisitions and dispute resolution. Travels often.
(WIP)
Pelagaia: The Express' first contracted courier and a chronically stubborn person at core. Her personality manifests as a 'stop me if you can' attitude that has seen her march headlong into conditions all but inhospitable to life.
Considered a major driving factor of the company's initial success, Pelagaia is mostly left to her own devices these days. Though for the most challenging of tasks, there is nobody else the Medrengard twins look to.

Contextual Info & OOC stuff:
Needless to say, none of this is to be taken seriously, or as a critique of any group or individual or institution whatsoever, I'm just over-complicating wolrdbuilding.
She belongs to an always-on-the-road archetype. Pelagaia lives to roam and explore. There is no such thing as aimless wandering for her. The character building I provide for her will emphasize this strongly when applicable.
Regarding certain types of hooks, [on-the-road, semi/garlean characters following hooks associated with drama, when she's trying to be sneaky] Be warned. Pelagaia will hit first and ask later. The woman has a Fight or Fight instinct.
Pelagaia is a lonely person. She's used to it because it's been her life for years, but she does sometimes catch herself craving for real connections, friendly and otherwise.
Timeline-wise. Pelagaia is situated(sort-of) in the post Stormblood period, when negotiations failed and war against Garlemald is in full swing. I intend to have her face some plot points here before moving on to other expansions.
Romance is not a subject she will treat lightly. Pelagaia will be stubborn, difficult, moody and for the most-part will try to avoid getting tied down for her own reasons. If you still want to pursue it, there needs to be a proper build up and respect for the characters lore. OOC discussion and planning mandatory.
Although the way the 'extra services' page is worded implies that certain topics mirroring real world issues could be broached in RP, I will entertain no such notions. So no criminal activities, or mafia, or smuggling rp, thanks. Though I do make exceptions for a really kickass story if it is talked out and planned through well in advance.
21+ only pls. Minors dni.
21+ characters only too, as a matter of fact.
Char Lorebook WIP.
So you noticed Jeff Goldblum, nice! Witness and be in awe
OOC=/=IC anytime you interact with me in game, I will be OOC unless specified otherwise or if I am using the 'Rp' tag.

Mirasol was one of the countless souls that wandered into Aldenard after the burgeoning Imperial war machine swallowed Ilsabard whole, and in an age when anything even remotely associated with the North was treated with rabid suspicion if not outright hostility. The imposing woman was a stranger from a strange land.
In spite of the hand dealt to her, Mirasol chose to rebel against what felt like fate. But first, something had to be done about trailing strings of the past that bit into her flesh and hedged the future against fear and prejudice.
Dropping her first name elevated her to an equal amongst vagrant masses. For what was once the core of her ego had become as shackles 'round the neck. Northerner, collaborator, spy, were labels her old identity invited.
Reclusion that was second nature to her demanded an ever increasing cost of sanity. To refrain from losing her grip on reality, gifts of nature were made. Of fruit, firewood and flesh, so painstakingly gathered to attract attention from locals and travelers. And with it, trade offers of steel and garments but most importantly, familiarity.
But her greatest sacrifice was immaterial. Not a trinket or an heirloom, but a dream. Of home and hearth, of family and purpose. All that made her Mirasol stripped away layer by layer until all that remained was a sense of freedom and a deep-set wonder for sights of the star.
The wanderers initial travels were little more than one-track-paths criss-crossing Eorzea's length as a trader-of-miscellania. The star providing meager sustenance on paths between settlements where she'd barter anything of interest gathered in the field for essentials.
It was not until she found herself shipwrecked and at the mercy of a particularly vicious storm in the Sirensong Sea, that an opportunity presented itself in the form of a gleaner from New Sharlayan who had the fortune of traveling on the same ship at the time.
While the story of this incident is a tale for another time, they survived it together, even reaching their intended destination of Radz-at-Han.
The gleaner revealed that they had been tasked with procuring several specimens of exotic species from Thavnair and surrounding areas. And in the course of their expeditions, required a strong back to lug cargo and a stronger pair of fists to fight off whatever attempted to separate them from it. Having witnessed her formidable capabilities firsthand, the gleaner offered her a job she was only to happy to accept. To join their expedition as a guide and fighter.
Yet both were momentarily stumped when the gleaner asked the Wanderer for her name, and she had none to give.
So in a moment of inspiration, the gleaner christened their new companion after the prize of the Hannish expedition, a creature so rare it was just as home in local mythica as it was in a zoologists journal. The legendary Thavnairian bird-of-paradise, Paradisaea Pelagica.
And just like that, the idea of personhood regained tangibility. Pride and a sense of belonging were felt anew, reigniting a soul reduced to guttering flames by a bitter desire for retribution.
Wanderer became traveler, and Pelagaia was born.
That's a mighty strange looking coeurl: Pelagaia is a whimsical creature at heart and will occasionally do things that seemingly defy odds, like sleeping in her favorite tree in Lower La Noscea. Yes, she climbs the tree and sleeps on a branch like a cat. Yes, she has fallen off a few times, almost always with the branch she was sleeping on. No she will not stop doing that. Maybe you were out for reasons and came across her tree. Or you were specifically directed to said tree when you asked where to find Pelagaia. Either way, Watch out for femroes sleeping in trees or risk getting flattened.
Is that a...: Dalamud's fall and the ensuing 7th umbral calamity left Eorzea in an utterly devastated state with areas that are so far gone from their original state they've been left nigh unrecognizable. [see Coerthas] Making robust logistics all the more crucial to people's survival in remote places. However, whiteouts, sandstorms, heatwaves and umbral lightning are but a few of the many phenomena that plague the star in the calamity's wake, collapsing supply chains at a moments notice for anywhere from hours to days. Yet there are those who would see to it that these people are looked after, no matter how dangerous the journey may be. And if you were to peek outside your shelter during such weather, you might just catch a glimpse of a towering figure carrying a backpack bursting with provisions and survival essentials, wading through waist-deep snow as if it were a sunny afternoon.
Work your magic, doc: Pelagaia's left arm has severely limited functionality from the time she picked a fistfight with a shipwreck. [she won] While she can make do for the most part with thick clothing or bandages, she uses a mechanical brace for the times when having two working arms is a valid benefit. If you are mechanically inclined or a versed in the arts of healing, she may come seeking your help with maintenance of the brace's machinery, or for medical supplies.
I swear I wasn't eavesdropping, well, not until you said...: You, a hard-working, respectable, responsible citizen. Responsibly earned your coin at your respectable job, at which you worked very hard. And now, You are at a respectable local watering hole, which serves hard beverages responsibly. You could never have guessed that the very business-like woman sitting at the table across was here to conduct business, until an overdressed roegadyn woman sits next to her and the two start casually discussing a topic that interests you! And for some twelevesdamned reason, instead of relaxing with your drink, you decide to join in.
Hey, I saw you fight, that was very impressive... by the way: The chances of getting attacked by demons while out traveling is low, but never zero. On the other hand, attacks from bandits and wildlife are actually very common. Thankfully, two things Pelagaia is very good at, are walking and running. Other than that, she is also quite good at beating the living daylights out of whatever stands in her way. With a preference for fist-fighting and a reverence to the Ala-Mhigan monks in her childhood stories. Pelagaia is fascinated by all things melee and is constantly seeking to improve her techniques and to get stronger. As a side note. Pelagaia recently discovered that she has a natural affinity for wind-aspected aether and is trying to find ways to incorporate it into her martial arts.
Soo, I've got a job for you: Pelagaia works for a living. She'd rather just travel, but she gets hungry for food and her airship gets hungry for refined ceruleum. Her primary occupation is the production and sale of highly detailed maps of the realm, though as a side hustle, she also delivers freight cargo for Medrengard Express amongst other things. You have a job that was either so important or high-stakes, that Logan Medrengard directly pointed you towards Pelagaia. Or you happened to be in the same area as Pelagaia and would like to have a basket of apples delivered to your grandma living in the next city. Either way, Pelagaia is your go-to deliverywoman.
Custom: [At the time of making this, I have no way of accounting for every possible lore hook, and i'm not even counting the ideas I forgot while writing the above four. If you like Pelagaia's concept and have some really cool rp idea or just wanna discuss some hooks, hmu and we'll come up with something that works for everyone involved^^.]
